Coconut Oil Does What?

Good Morning Ladies!

I'm so sorry it's been so long since I've posted but for the past 6 months, I have been trying to get myself back on track with a new way to eat for life.  About 6 months ago, I was really sick and had to go to the hospital for massive pain in my gut.  The doctor said after many tests, that I have diverticulitis.

At that time, I had shared my illness with my niece who got me interested in taking care of my gut by changing to Raw Milk.  Yep, I did the switch and it has saved my life.  When I was sick, I looked pregnant!  I wasn't pregnant at 55 years of age at that time and now 56 but instead I had gained 15 pounds and felt sick daily.  I was bloated and was getting worse everyday.  Even with the raw milk, I wasn't completely well.  It was then that same niece felt I was ready for the next step and that was to omit all grains from  my diet including Gluten.  So, with a happy gut and 15 pounds less, I am now grain and gluten free and on all raw milk products.

I have so much energy now that my husband has to tell me to slow down and relax a little. I'm sleeping now and can clean my house without feeling like I went on a mile run.  My sisters tell me my skin has never looked better.  I still have 20 pounds to go to be where I want to be but I feel good and that's all that matters.  I'm a size 10/12 and want to look good in my 50's.  I do not have hot flashes and I'm cooking and baking with coconut oil, grape seed oil, or animal fat.  I also use almond flour, coconut flour, or arrowroot flour for all my baking.  My husband loves it and claims it tastes better than regular flour.

Here are some websites that will help you:

When it comes to health, hormones, and gut bacteria have a much bigger effect than many people realize. In fact, these two factors can destroy health even if everything else (diet, supplements, etc.) is optimized.  http://wellnessmama.com/5425/balance-hormones/

I pray that as you switch over to raw milk products and become grain and gluten free that you will educate yourself for your friends and family.

Also, I buy my raw milk products at Sprouts.  I am so thankful they carry the products from the dairy that I researched called OrganicPastures.com  7221 S Jameson Ave, Fresno, CA 93706

I pray that this year, you will all give yourself a gift and learn new ways of taking care of yourself.  Obviously, if we are still in pain, not sleeping, gaining weight, having hot flashes, then we are doing something wrong.

God bless you on your pursuit to wholeness.

Cramps GONE!

Hi Ladies,

I recently went to see my Gynecologist to get an ultra sound due to the horrible cramps I was getting.  We thought it was my ovaries again.  However, all was good!  No signs of any problems.  A few days later, we went on our road trip to the mid west and for 8 days I did not have access to my Soy or Almond mild for my meal replacement shake from Melaleuca.  So instead, we used water.  Lo and behold I never had a cramp again!  When we returned, it dawned on me that it may be the Soy milk or Almond milk.  So I tried the Almond milk and yes, the cramps returned.  Soy milk - cramps returned.  Needless to say, I am milk free and pain free.  I don't know yet if non-fat milk will produce the same cramps but I am going to try it and I will let you all know.  By the way, not having soy or almond mild also took away my joint pains that I was having every morning.  Woo hoo!!!!  Who would have thunk it. I used Soy milk for a year and according to the research I did, it can cause horrible abdominal pain and other problems if you can't tolerate it. I am so thankful!

Cramp free for now!

Owie..pain in the lower abdomen?

Hi Ladies,

I have been having pain in my lower abdomen for weeks now.  My gynecologist says to make an appointment for an ultra sound...yuk! I am trying to figure out when it started or why but nothing comes to mind. It basically feels like my ovaries are going to EXPLODE!!!  My doc asked me when the pain comes. Does it happen if I'm constipated? If I have gas? If I need to pee?  Well yes to all and no to all.  It happens no matter what.

Any one else out there have these pains?

I thought I was finished with the menopause symptoms but I guess not. Or, perhaps this is related to something else.

So, since I have been feeling bloated, and have a lot of pain in my joints, and muscles, and feel like I'm retaining water, I have decided today to cleanse. In other words, no more sweets, no more pork, and very little meat. I have found recently that when I eat pork, I am in excruciating pain the next day. It also makes me retain water. I don't know if I'm allergic now because this has never happened before or if it may be something else.

I will let you all know.

HOT FLASHES NO MORE!

I just read this info that came my way on FB about cinnamon and honey mixed with hot water and I have been doing it for 2 days now and I have to say, it's amazing! In 2 days it has taken away my dizziness, cleared my nose, gotten rid of phlegm, reduced pain in my right side almost to nothing, stopped hot flashes, and slept all night!!!!!! Wow! Healing virtues of this is amazing. Also it's a weight loss drink and soooooooooo cheap. Just grab whatever honey you have in the house to make this mixture. But heat the water first in a cup, then add 1 table spoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and drink it up. By the way, it took away my migraine, stopped the indigestion I had and took away tummy ache 2 nights ago. Let me know your results.  Drink it on an empty stomach in the morning and again at night 30 minutes before bed.

Norco

Hi Ladies,

Well, it's been a long time since my last post.  I have had a lot going on with moving, work, and my Phd program.

I don't know if you all remember but in December of 2012, I had surgery on my foot. Well, it has healed nicely but this cold weather caused some strange sensations in my foot so the doc wanted the hardware out.  I had it all removed Friday, January 18, 2013.  I also had him straighten one of my toes on the same foot that was a hammer toe.  I believe now that it had a lot to do with the problems with my foot to begin with.

Anyway, as I have been on pain meds (Norco) since last Friday, I realized that it has helped me sleep through any hot flashes that may have come in the night.  The 10 mg worked best but most of the time I still woke up at least once a night. However, the sleep was better overall with the Norco.  So, I'm realizing that women going through menopause may benefit from some sort of pain med for sleeping.  I don't recommend it for long periods of time because it does cause constipation and it is addictive.  So perhaps during those really bad episodes of menopause it would be OK?  Any thoughts??

Green Coffee Bean Extract

Hi Ladies,
OK, I purchased the Green Coffee Bean Extract capsules that Dr. Oz and everyone is buzzing about and I'm on my 3rd day!  Yes, I have more energy. No, I have not lost any weight.  However, it's only day 3 and I did eat pie ala mode last night at Mel's Diner.  It states that you don't have to change how you eat to lose the weight so we shall see.  Tune in later to see my weight loss results.  I weigh 175 today! I will also check my blood pressure and post those results too. Normally, I'm low but this last year I have been borderline range. Today 130/92 P. 78

Stay posted.

Cysts?

At my annual check up my doc was concerned about a little bleeding and pain I was experiencing so she ordered an ultra sound. They found that I have a small cyst.  So two months later, she ordered another ultra sound and its still there but small.  She said that if the bleeding continues then I have to call her. So far, no more bleeding but pain every once in a while when my menstrual cycle would have normally been occurring.

Once I had a cyst that was so painful I had to pull over on the freeway and call my husband because I couldn't drive anymore.  He called an ambulance because I was wailing with pain on the side of the road. Funny to talk about it now because that day I was on my way to an interview for a teaching position in American Canyon.

Obviously I never made the interview but thankfully my husband called and explained so they gave me another shot at it and hired me. LOL

I'm not working there anymore but I thought it was a funny story to share.  Those cysts can be extremely painful when they burst so be careful!  Pull over if you can't stand the pain no matter what!

Have a great day!
